Dr. Pamela Anne Bro, Founder & Pastor
Dr. Pamela Anne Bro, founder and pastor of Living Waters Sanctuary, and Founder and Director of the former organization Kindred Spirits (soon to be reborn as "A Gathering of Eagles") is a dynamic motivational speaker, pastor and workshop leader. Dr. Bro maintains her standing in both the United Church of Christ and Disciples of Christ with 30 years of pastoring.
In 1972, Dr. Bro earned her Master's in Theater from Schiller College in West Berlin, Germany. In 1982, she earned her M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary in NYC. In 1999, she received her doctorate from the Chicago Theological Seminary in theology and anthropology with a focus on women's roles in ritual. Trained in cross-cultural analysis and mission-as-reconciliation, Dr. Bro did field work with the Lakota Indians in South Dakota. Since 2000, she has led training in "Cross Cultural Sensitivity" for outgoing missionaries for the Division of Overseas Ministries for the United Church of Christ and the Disciples. Since 2001, she has been involved with racial reconciliation and child advocacy with the Children's Defense Fund. Currently a member of Virginia Organizing, Dr. Bro collaborates with others to promote a fair and comprehensive immigration law for our Hispanic brothers and sisters. She is also an active advocate for and with the Christian LGBT, Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and transgendered population.
As former Associate Pastor at the Church of Christ in Yale University, Dr. Bro has designed and led many interfaith worship services in the New Haven area. She has extended her interfaith work with Hartford Seminary's intensive, "Building Abrahamic Partnerships," and continues her interfaith dialogue efforts here in Hampton Roads, most recently with Temple Emanuel in Va. Beach and now with indigenous peoples.
Dr. Bro works as a spiritual life coach for the A.R.E. Health and Day Spa, and also does private spiritual coaching, both in person and on the phone. She leads workshops and lectures around the country, and is looking forward to promoting her recently published book SoulQuest: A Trail Guide to Life. Dr. Bro has two wonderful adult daughters, Chelsea and Kaitlyn. She loves living right on the
Chesapeake Bay.
